ABOUT

MY STORY

Keith Keller has worked as a reporter, a freelance writer and public school teacher. His writing has appeared in Canadian Geographic, the Vancouver Sun and the Globe and Mail, among other publications. He is the author of Dangerous Waters, an oral history of West Coast marine rescues, which was a number one BC bestseller and was shortlisted for the Duthie Prize, an honour given by booksellers to BC’s non-fiction book of the year. He also wrote Wildfire Wars, an oral history-based book chronicling some of this province’s most noteworthy wildfires.

Speaking of his memoir work, Keith says, “I never cease to be fascinated by the complexity of people's lives, and in particular, their resiliency in coping with the challenges they inevitably face. Many people seem ordinary until you scratch the surface. I see my role as facilitating a satisfyingly deep dive below that surface. It’s in making those deep dives that the fascinating uniqueness of individual lives becomes apparent.”
