FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

My life seems quite ordinary to me. Why would anyone want to read my memoir?

No one has lived or will live a life exactly like yours. To your close friends, your children and their descendants, the details of your life—stories of your upbringing, your struggles and your triumphs—are of tremendous interest. Life experiences that may seem quite ordinary to the teller are often extraordinary to their friends and family.

Is this a very expensive process?

The cost of compiling and publishing a life story is well within many people’s budgets. Prices vary according to the scope of the project. Contact Inner Island Memoirs for a free consultation.

It’s my life story. Why shouldn't I write it myself?

Maybe you should! Some people do an excellent job of compiling their own memoir. There are also good reasons to have the job done professionally. Compiling a life story is a major undertaking, and some people begin such a project enthusiastically only to become overwhelmed. Working with Inner Island Memoirs, the teller participates in a series of enjoyable conversations – everything else is taken care of.

What other services does Inner Island Memoirs provide?

Variations include corporate histories, books celebrating retirement, special birthdays or anniversaries, and memorial projects commemorating the lives of people who have died without recording their life stories.

Can other people participate in my memoir?

Absolutely. The memories and observations of others – relatives, friends or professional associates – can add valuable depth to your life story.
